Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Powys to assist with the appointment of a Complaints Officer on a 1-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 17.06 - 22.34 per hour

Summary:

The Complaints Officer is responsible for ensuring the Council meets all statutory requirements for managing investigating and reporting on complaints representations compliments and comments within Social Services. You will act as a vital link between service users and operational teams facilitating independent resolutions and ensuring that feedback is used to drive continuous improvement in performance management and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and update complaints policies to ensure full compliance with Welsh Government Guidance and relevant regulations for both children and adult services.
  • Commission and maintain a pool of Independent Investigating Officers and Independent Persons for formal Stage 2 investigations.
  • Maintain systems for recording feedback and produce independent reports using statistical and qualitative data to identify trends.
  • Design and deliver training programmes for staff to promote best practices in complaint handling.
  • Effectively manage the Feedback Teams Administrator to ensure high administrative standards.

      Qualifications:

      • A relevant degree OR a professional qualification OR equivalent significant relevant experience.

      Essentials:

      • Significant experience working within Social Services or a social work setting.
      • Proven experience in dealing with formal complaints and conflict resolution.
      • Comprehensive knowledge of Social Services practices procedures and current trends in service delivery.
      • Familiarity with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.

      Please note:

      • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
      • You should have right to work in U.K
      • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
