Whats the role

Youll join Westpac Institutional Bank as an Analyst supporting a portfolio of large corporate and institutional clients across the Consumer and Industrials sectors. Based in Melbourne this is a full-time role where youll focus on credit analysis deal structuring and providing thoughtful insights that help our customers grow in a sustainable way.

Day to day youll partner closely with Relationship Managers to assess lending proposals prepare clear and well-reasoned credit submissions and support customers through new transactions and ongoing portfolio management. Youll also stay close to market and industry trends using your judgement and analytical skills to flag emerging risks and opportunities.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of numbers people and commercial decision-making and who takes pride in delivering balanced high-quality outcomes within a collaborative team environment.

What do I need

To do your best work in this role youll bring strong core skills and a practical commercial mindset including:

  • Confidence working with customer relationship managers and other stakeholders in an institutional banking environment to progress deals.
  • The ability to analyse financial information and assess credit risk for complex customers.
  • Experience writing high quality well-structured credit submissions and recommendations.
  • Sound judgement when balancing risk structure and customer needs.
  • Curiosity about market and industry trends and how they impact customers.
