Job Summary

A well-regarded and dynamic secondary school in Ilford is seeking a reliable organised and proactive Food Technician to join their Food Technology department. This is a full-time permanent role starting ASAP providing vital practical support for teachers and students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role

As a Food Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of practical food lessons. Your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients equipment and resources supporting teachers and students during lessons and maintaining a clean safe and well-organised learning environment.

You will also manage departmental stock assist with administrative tasks and support enrichment activities such as food competitions cooking clubs and special projects. The role requires strong organisational skills attention to detail and a proactive approach to supporting both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing ingredients tools and equipment for practical lessons
Setting up and clearing food workspaces efficiently
Maintaining hygiene and health and safety standards in the food rooms
Assisting teachers and students during practical sessions
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering materials
Supporting food-related events competitions and extracurricular activities
Assisting with departmental administration and record-keeping

Experience and Qualifications
