The Role
Preparing equipment materials and chemicals for practical lessons across KS3 KS4 and KS5
Supporting complex practical investigations and demonstrations
Ensuring safe storage handling and disposal of chemicals in line with COSHH regulations
Maintaining laboratory equipment and coordinating repairs where required
Managing stock control and ordering supplies efficiently
Assisting teaching staff during practical sessions when necessary
Maintaining accurate compliance risk assessment and safety documentation
Supporting whole-department organisation and preparation for examination practicals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience in a Science Technician or laboratory-based role
Strong understanding of laboratory health & safety and COSHH procedures
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence supporting practical work at GCSE and A Level
The ability to prioritise workload in a busy school environment
A proactive reliable and professional approach
