Job Summary

UMH Sparrow Lansing Main Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Cardiovascular Surgery team at UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital in Lansing MI. The role involves 4-day 10-hour shifts with 1 in 4 weeks on call and 1 weekend per month. The position is available starting February due to a recent APP resignation.

Our CV team is cardiac and vascular surgeons. The APP team rounds and supports both. This rounder position would not have any OR responsibilities.

Below is a breakdown of what our patients typically look like.

These are very rough estimates:

CVICU 2-3 minimum/day can be as many as 8

CVSU 2-5/day but also involves discharges

Vascular 4-10 between ICU and the floors most of these we arent primary on and most are on the floor

Patient list on the weekends will be 15-30. Weekends will be 1 every 4 you are on your own on the weekend

Dates of Coverage: Starting in February

Reason for Coverage: Recent APP resignation
Shift Description:

4-day 10-hour workweek

1 in 4 weeks on call (first call from home)

1 weekend shift per month

Call Schedule:

1 in 4 weeks on call

1 weekend per month required

Average Number of Patients per Day: 15 patients per day on average (weekends tend to be higher)

Trauma Level/Designation: Level 1 Trauma Center

Documentation System/EMR: Epic

Compensation & Benefits

As this is a locum placement:

Provider will be compensated on a locum basis.
The facility will reimburse:

Hotel
Mileage billed at the IRS standard rate
Rental Car
Additional standard locum benefits may apply (to be negotiated) though no explicit benefits were specified in the original request.

Orientation - 1/2 hourly rate
Hourly - 10 hr days

Board Certified in APP: REQUIRED
Active State Medical License (Michigan) on hand: REQUIRED at time of name clear
BLS & ACLS Certifications: REQUIRED
Clean Malpractice & License History: HIGHLY PREFFERED
Will You Accept New Grads They must be experienced REQUIRED
Copy of the NPDB self-query requires at presentation (Should be pulled within 30 days) - REQUIRED
