Designation: Technical Security Engineer
Job Role: Firewall and Network Technical Support
Experience: 5-7 years hands-on experience in network and firewall support
Work Mode: On-Site ( 8x5 )
Shifts: Flexible hours with on-call support when required
Role
Provide on-site support and administration for enterprise network and firewall security infrastructure at client premises. Responsible for maintaining availability performance and security of LAN/WAN connectivity and perimeter defenses through monitoring troubleshooting configuration management and incident response. Supports ongoing optimization to ensure a stable and secure network environment aligned with operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Firewall Security Operations
• Administer maintain and optimize enterprise firewalls and network security infrastructure
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime
• Monitor network health capacity availability and security events
• Manage firewall rules security policies NAT VPNs segmentation and access controls
• Maintain LAN/WAN connectivity routing switching and perimeter defenses
• Execute firmware upgrades patching and system hardening
Configuration Change & Risk Management
• Maintain secure configuration baselines and standards
• Implement approved changes following change management procedures
• Support resilience redundancy and failover capabilities
• Ensure configurations align with security policies
Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare periodic technical and service reports
• Maintain records of configurations changes incidents and maintenance
• Produce network health and performance summaries
Security Advisory & Continuous Improvement
• Provide technical guidance on firewall and network security improvements
• Recommend enhancements based on operational requirements
• Support implementation of upgrades and optimization initiatives
• Stay updated on relevant security threats and technologies
Compliance & Operational Duties
• Adhere to organizational policies procedures standards and SLAs
• Work independently on-site while maintaining stakeholder communication
• Perform additional duties within project scope as required
Experience Requirements
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network and firewall security support
• Experience administering firewalls and secure network environments
• Exposure to client-facing or on-site support roles
• Familiarity with monitoring incident management and change control processes
Mandatory & Preferred Requirements
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies routing and network security fundamentals
• Relevant networking or cybersecurity certifications preferred
• Fortinet (NSE 7) and Palo Alto firewall administration (PCNSA/PCNSE) certification strongly preferred
• Experience with VPNs segmentation access control and security best practices
• Familiarity with network monitoring and security tools
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication and reporting abilities
• Ability to work independently in a client environment
Core Skills & Competencies (L3/L4 — Fortinet & Palo Alto Focus)
• Hands-on management of enterprise firewalls in production environments
• Configuration and administration of Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Familiarity with Fortigate product suite FortiWeb and Palo Alto Firewall ( PA-5220 )
• Firewall policy management NAT VPN (IPsec/SSL) and security zoning
• LAN/WAN connectivity routing switching and network segmentation
• Security incident troubleshooting and remediation
• System hardening firmware upgrades and patch management
• Performance monitoring and high-availability support
• Change management and technical documentation
• Integration with centralized management and monitoring platforms
• Stakeholder communication and technical advisory support
• Understanding of SLAs and operational processes
Educational Qualifications
