Description
Summary: The Part-Time Plumber is responsible for performing maintenance repairs and minor installations of plumbing systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of facilities. This role includes diagnosing issues repairing fixtures and piping addressing leaks and clogs and supporting preventative maintenance efforts. The Part-Time Plumber works independently or alongside facilities staff to maintain compliance with safety standards and local plumbing codes while providing timely high-quality service.
The schedule for this position will be 16 hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply working knowledge of residential and institutional plumbing.
- Analyse and resolve typical plumbing issues.
- Rebuild/replace all plumbing fixtures including: sinks faucets toilets diverters mixing valves backflow preventers ejector pumps booster pumps etc
- Service appliances including basic troubleshooting and cleaning of dryer vents.
- Service hydronic and steam heating systems.
- Maintain all School-owned tools in the employees daily service.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Clean machines tools and equipment.
- Operate motorized and hand-operated sewer machines.
- Performs other duties as requested
Requirements
- A valid drivers license is required.
- Flexible shift availability.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.

- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise level may be moderate-to-loud on various occasions.
- Able to work different shifts including weekends and nights when needed.
- Operates in a professional work environment.
