Job Summary

CAD Design Engineer Permanent Full-Time

Location Office-based in West Yorkshire

Join a specialist in the design and manufacture of stainless-steel bar counter systems. This company provides modular ergonomic solutions for the hospitality industry focusing on maximising operational efficiency and hygiene through bespoke layouts. By ensuring every workspace is optimised for professional service and longevity they deliver high-quality internal fit-outs across the sector.

We are looking for a CAD Design Engineer proficient in SolidWorks specifically using the Sheet Metal tool for bespoke stainless-steel fabrications. You will be responsible for creating detailed manufacturing drawings and developing modular components that ensure precision assembly within demanding hospitality environments.

Responsibilities but are not limited to

Produce 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks
Review project drawing information using AutoCAD
Progress new designs from initial concept through to manufacture
Revise drawings in response to design reviews engineering changes and manufacturing feedback
Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles
Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Maintain drawing control documentation and revision history
Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications and components
Support prototype builds inspections and design validation
Provide technical guidance to production and installation teams
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Manage workload effectively to meet project timescales

Experiences required

Proficiency in creating detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings for manufacture (DFMA) using SolidWorks
Proven experience using the Sheet Metal tool within SolidWorks
Competency in using AutoCAD 2D
A background in designing for fabricated products
Knowledge of the Weldments tool PDM and configurations within SolidWorks is highly desirable
