Job Duties
This role supports new and existing child care centers and family day homes in becoming publicly-funded birth-to-five Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) providers in Virginia. The position advances the Virginia Department of Educations (VDOE) activities related to access and enrollment across Virginias unified early childhood system by focusing on providing direct support to current and prospective publicly-funded ECCE providers with the goal of increasing the supply of publicly-funded child care in the Commonwealth.
The role contributes to effective program administration by:
- Coordinating Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP) provider onboarding and processing required documentation
- Managing provider updates ensuring timely maintenance of system information and helping keep internal and provider-facing resources up to date
- Responding to provider inquiries professionally and approachably both in writing and by telephone
- Assisting with payment resolution and addressing provider attendance and payment discrepancies promptly
- Supporting provider compliance and retention in the CCSP in coordination with other VDOE teams and VDSS partners
- Ensuring data integrity by identifying discrepancies and collaborating with colleagues to correct data entries across key systemsincluding case management licensing quality and attendance data systemsto maintain accurate provider records
This role requires close collaboration with internal VDOE teams (e.g.; OCCHS VQB5) and external partnersincluding VDSS and Ready Regionsand is expected to contribute feedback to improve processes internal resources and provider-facing materials. Through these responsibilities the position plays a critical role in supporting providers safeguarding program integrity and ensuring families and children have consistent access to high-quality services.
