Staff Android Framework Engineer (Digital Experience) Mountain View CA

Join a premier automotive technology group building a next-generation platform from the ground up to transform the in-car digital experience. This embedded-focused role centers on AOSP framework developmentrather than consumer mobile appsto power advanced media audio and multi-display systems.

Core Responsibilities

Framework Engineering: Develop and modify AOSP framework components to enable seamless data flow and system behavior.
Architecture & Design: Architect the software stack bridging system-level performance with the application layer for a unified digital environment.
Cross-Platform Integration: Collaborate with teams on Linux/QNX BSP layers to support graphics camera and networking systems.
Engineering Fundamentals: Define coding guidelines manage CI/CD infrastructure and lead system-critical design reviews.
Performance & Security: Ensure data reliability perform vulnerability assessments and optimize multi-display responsiveness.

Requirements

Qualifications

Experience: 810 years in OO software design/Android development with 35 years as a technical lead.
Technical Depth: High proficiency in C and deep expertise in customizing/extending Android Automotive OS (AAOS).
Domain Knowledge: Expert in media systems (audio/display) microservices and layered platform architectures.
Travel: Ability to travel internationally up to once per quarter for stakeholder workshops.
