Outage Engineering is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) with extensive experience in GT24/GT11 legacy Alstom technology. TPM will be responsible for leading Engineering support through Outage Scope Assessment process for outage planning strategy and scoping process including engineering recommendations part identification productivity opportunities extra work identification fleet optimization technical operation support and troubleshooting of our GT24/GT11 fleet in Americas pole.
This position will work with various stakeholders across the Gas Power business including Operations Global Ops MYA FieldCore Parts Engineering Configuration Management Application Engineering Product Service and Product Line Management. This role will be critical to support the improvement of GEs outage execution process. The TPM will be responsible for driving the following functions:

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • TPM (Technical Project Manager) leads technical Customer interface for assigned GT24/GT11 fleet in coordination with CSEs CPMs CSLs & FieldCore.

  • Liaises with internal engineering providers (i.e. Requisitions Design Parts Configurations and Product Service) and CSEs to ensures consistent technical communication to Customer

  • Lead outage planning milestone review calls with CPM/CSL/Field core to layout detailed outage scope to reduce technical risk and identify opportunities to improve reliability

  • Identify opportunities to drive outage productivity and reduce costs

  • Use data to identify extra work opportunities beyond standard scope

  • Support parts identification and configuration optimization activities

  • Support fleet strategy for parts optimization

    Lead engineering outage preparation activities

  • Support the Sales/Operations/Field organization in moving toward a consistent outage planning process

  • Work closely with Application Engineering Configuration Management and Supply Chain teams to ensure parts quality for outages

  • Provides input to application and requisition engineering to influence offers (ITO) and execution (OTR) of standardized CM&U

  • Supports consolidation and integration of CM&U scope into standard outage schedule

  • Accountable for plant technical history (RCA technical issues config outage forecasting) in close collaboration with various Gas power business (i.e. Customer Support Engineering Parts Product Service and Configuration engineering teams)

  • Liaises with FieldCore for technical briefing during outage planning and execution of the assigned GT24/GT11 fleet

  • Consolidates and shares lesson learnt with other regional poles and implement the learning from other regions as applicable

  • Lead cost out and continues improvement projects for assigned fleet

  • Lead engineering assessment of outage scope to reduce technical risk and identify opportunities to improve reliability
  • Support parts identification and configuration optimization activities
  • Support fleet strategy for parts optimization

  • Lead engineering outage preparation activities

  • Support the Sales/Operations/Field organization in moving toward a consistent outage planning process

  • Represent GE at customer meetings and provide timely technical communication to external and internal customers

  • Support the Sales/Operations/Field organization in moving toward a consistent outage planning process

  • Work closely with Application Engineering Configuration Management and Supply Chain teams to ensure parts quality for outages

  • Develop and maintain engineering tools to improve capability and drive productivity

  • Represent GE at customer meetings and provide timely technical communication to external and internal customers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in turbomachinery design or power plant domain
  • Proven experience with gas turbine technology (specifically with the GT24/GT11 technology) maintenance planning and execution and upgrades

  • Able to travel globally as needed

Desired Characteristics

  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certified (GE Vernova Employees only)
  • Self-starter able to develop document and execute assignments with limited supervision
  • Engineering design and validation experience in gas turbine / steam turbine / generator equipment

  • Experience in GE field services product services including outage support

  • Experience working in a Power Plant operations and maintenance role with strong working knowledge of Plant equipment

  • Ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels including the ability to work in a matrix organization. Experience with leading initiatives cross functionally within GE involving global functional and P&L teams.

  • Highly effective communicator with experience in presenting and interacting with customers and senior leadership across the business with a thoughtful persuasive personal style

  • Strong team player
