TheCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Neurology provides assistance in the examination and treatment of patients under Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner supervision in the ambulatory service clinical setting. Certified Medical Assistant duties include: chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performs venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation; order and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record; maintains examination/procedure room supplies; assists with efficient patient flow; assists with orientation of new staff; and participates in quality assurance programs.
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Day Shift; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Weekend Work Not Required
Education/Experience:
Work requires a high school level of educational development and graduation from an accredited medical assistant training program with less than 6 months experience.
Licensure/Certifications:
Certification as a Medical Assistant by an approved national examination agency required.
Current CPr/ BLS Certificaton
Knowledge/Skills of the Certified Medical Assistant
Work requires the ability to gather and exchange information on factual matters schedule appointments greet visitors explain medical center polices and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.

Salary Range: Minimum $18.09/hour - Maximum $29.87/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
