Job Title:Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse
Employment Type:Part-Time / 24 hours weekly
Shift: Day Shift / 8 hour shifts
Location: St. Mary Medical Center Langhorne PA
Position Purpose
The Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse Identifies the nursing care needs and evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care for adult and geriatric radiation therapy patients.
As a Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse you will:
- Provides professional nursing care by conducting an initial and ongoing nursing assessment identifying physical psychosocial and educational needs to patients ongoing radiation treatment.
- Provides nursing assistance to the Radiation Oncologist in pre-treatment patient consultation and follow-up exams/visits.
- Instructs patients and significant others regarding treatment related side effects self-care responsibility therapy procedures weekly assessments and follow-up care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or Compact State required.
- 2-4 years related clinical experience in oncology.
- BLS & ACLS certifications.
- OCN certification preferred.
