Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Orthopedics - Travel Position (with $7500 Completion Bonus)

Pay:$2240.82/week(plus $2500 completion bonus per contract up to $7500 after three contracts)

Job Summary:

The Med Surg Ortho Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and those with musculoskeletal conditions. This role involves managing post-operative care pain control mobility assistance and patient education while ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care for orthopedic and general medical-surgical patients.
• Monitor vital signs surgical sites and neurovascular status; promptly report changes.
• Administer medications pain management therapies and IV fluids as prescribed.
• Assist patients with mobility transfers and physical therapy exercises.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care discharge instructions and rehabilitation plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate with surgeons physical therapists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize recovery.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols infection control and safety standards.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelors degree in Nursing).
• Licensure: Current RN license in State.
• Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
• Orthopedic Nursing Certification (ONC) Preferred
• Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg or orthopedic nursing experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures and post-op care.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and patient education abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand walk and assist with patient mobility for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for wound care and medication administration.
