Job Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Allied Health Assistant to join the team at Epworth Geelong!
This casual position will provide the opportunity to work across the hospital supporting both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and acute clinical services.

As an Allied Health Assistant you will work closely with Allied Health Professionals to support both clinicians and patients through a variety of clinical and administrative tasks.

This diverse role offers plenty of variety in your day. You will primarily support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering individual and groupbased rehabilitation programs to optimise patient function.

A key part of the role will involve supporting the safe and effective delivery of hydrotherapy services at Epworth Geelong which will provide exposure to a wide range of patient cohorts.

You will be part of a highperforming supportive Allied Health team committed to helping you develop and learn within the role.

You will make an impact by:

  • Collaborating with team members and patients to create an exceptional patient experience
  • Assisting in the delivery of therapy programs and clinical care across a range of allied health disciplines.
  • Providing a high standard of patient care and ensuring patient well-being and safety at all times
  • Delivering initiative in the clinical setting to facilitate seamless patient services
  • Assisting patients in attainment of therapy goals and prevention of functional decline
  • Remaining positive and solution focused in the presence of time pressures.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Present with demonstrated experience in a clinical setting (preferably hospital based)
  • Excellent mid-week availability
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Have excellent administration time management and organisations skills
  • Present with a natural caring and compassionate demeanour
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and flexibility in all aspects of your work as an Allied Health Assistant
  • Enjoy assisting patients in their recovery from injury or illness

Qualifications :

  • Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant qualification or equivalent is essential and/or completing another relevant university qualification (eg student in an Allied Health Discipline)
  • Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant within rehabilitation or a hospital setting (desirable)
