Job Summary:

ProfessionalDevelopment:

• Design facilitate and deliver professional development sessions for special education teachersincollaborationwithothercoachesinordertoensurealignmentacrossallareas.
• Supportandguideteamsandindividualteachersintheimplementationof special educationgoalsandpriorities.
• Supportandleaddistricttrainingsessionsforspecialeducation teachers.

CoachingMentoring Modelingand Problem-Solving:

• Provide ongoing on-site coaching and mentoring to teachers supporting the implementationofexplicitinstructionandalignedinstructionalpracticesinthe classroom.
• Providesupportintheclassroomtoassistteachersinrefininginstructionaltechniquesto meet the diverse needs of students.
• Provideopportunitiesforteacherstoobservethemodelingofvariousaspectsof instruction.
• Problem-solvewithteachersinmakingresponsiveinstructionaldecisions(intervention and extensions) to meet student needs in the areas of academics functional and social/emotional skills.

DataAnalysisandAssessment:

• AbilitytofacilitatewriteandimplementIndividualEducationPlans(IEPs) andBehavior Support Plans.
• Analyzeassessmentdatatoidentifytrends areasofimprovementandopportunitiesfor intervention.
• Workcloselywithteacherstointerpretassessmentresultsanddeveloptargeted instructional plans for individuals and small groups.
• Provide coaching and mentoring around utilizing data (i.e. screening data progress monitoringdataformativeassessmentdata)toinformIEPgoalsandexplicitinstruction

CollaborationwithDistrictCoaches:

• Collaboratewithotherdistrictcoaches( GTD ELD)tointegrateinstructionalstrategiesacrossdisciplinesandpromoteaunified approach to instruction.
• Participateinregularteammeetingstosharebestpracticesaligncoachingstrategiesand address cross-curricular challenges.
• Abilitytoworkbeyondtheschoolyearandstudentdayasneeded(compensation provided).

Qualifications:

• CurrentMinnesotaspecialeducationteachinglicense
• Minimumof5yearsofsuccessfulteaching experience
• Mastersdegreeineducation(preferred)
• Trainingorcertificationinstructuredliteracysocialemotionalorotherrelevantareas (preferred)
• Strongunderstandingofbehaviormanagementandmodificationstrategies
• Demonstratedsuccessincoachingandmentoringteachers
• Cognitivecoachingtrainingorequivalent(preferred)
• Strongunderstandingofdatacollectionsystemsanddata analysis
