This role is based in our 605 Third Avenue New York office.
The Senior Director of Operations leads the operations department in its strategy and team development to ensure the successful operational delivery of the GDC & BlackHat Festivals. Working closely with the Heads of each operational team they will ensure that the strategy is communicated clearly and effectively to enable the teams to set priorities and processes accordingly. This role will ensure that there is a consistent focus on the team development and resourcing. This role will act as the ultimate point of escalation with regards to operational delivery for the operations team other internal departments and suppliers.
The role will require travel to the festivals site visits and regional offices. Youll
- Work with our Global Operating Officer on implementing new structures and ways of working following the team transition into Informa Festivals
- Work with Gaming (GDC) & Cyber (BlackHat / Sector) leadership teams to establish priorities for the festival cycles including but not limited to show strategy CSR initiatives processes and timelines
- Effectively communicate the business strategies to the operations teams to ensure full alignment with operational delivery
- Work with the heads of each operations team to ensure collaborative and efficient processes and communications are in place between them.
- Ensure the wider internal teams understand the roles and responsibilities of all 3 elements of the operations team to encourage efficient collaboration between departments
Festival Commercial & Content Operations
- Oversee resource planning and management within the operations teams to ensure workloads are manageable and promote high performance
- Be a point of escalation for full operations team internal departments and suppliers both during planning cycles and onsite at our shows
- Focus on forward planning for future shows including venue procurement and supplier planning
Qualifications :
- Proven large-scale international event experience essential
- Strong planning prioritisation and implementation skills
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Negotiation and financial management skills
- Ability to work in a high-performing fast paced environment
- Manages stakeholders and team with confidence and empathy
- Good communications skills and great customer service
Special requirements
- As this role supports across shows across the different time zones alternative work hours will be required as necessary
- This role is essential to the onsite delivery so it is necessary that the successful applicant is able to travel including but not limited to Singapore UK Canada Europe and United States of America.

The salary range for this role is $150000 - $170000 based on experience.
