Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule: 3x12 Days
Pay: $2080.80/week (plus $2500 completion bonus per contract up to $7500 after three contracts)
Job Description
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse provides high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced assessment. This position manages patients transitioning from critical care to medical-surgical units including those with telemetry needs and complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking adaptability and a commitment to providing compassionate patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and progressive care patients with mixed acuity levels.
- Monitor assess and document changes in patient condition using telemetry and bedside monitoring equipment.
- Administer and titrate medications per protocol including cardiac drips and IV therapies.
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses CNAs and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans medications and discharge instructions.
- Float to other progressive care or medical-surgical units as needed based on facility requirements.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact or state-specific).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or Progressive Care experience required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Telemetry competency required.
- Experience with EMR systems (Cerner preferred).
- Must be able to work every other weekend; no on-call required.
- Positive attitude and teamwork skills essential.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
