Our opportunity

The Head of Procurement Logistics & Services (Canada) will be responsible for driving cost leadership and enabling profitable growth across landside transportation (truck and rail) depots warehousing customs ground freight (domestic and cross-border) and e-commerce in Canada.

The role will partner closely with stakeholders in Product Management and Operations to ensure procurement efforts support the Areas commercial goals. Key value drivers include securing capacity at competitive rates and ensuring high levels of service and customer satisfaction while maintaining strict adherence to Safety and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) requirements.

The Head of Procurement will work in close coordination with Regional and Global Category Managers to develop and execute sourcing strategies deploy new technologies to build scalability and implement a strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to create a long-term competitive advantage.

This high-impact role will represent Procurement in the Area Leadership Team (ALT) and will also be part of the Regional L&S Procurement Leadership Team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a procurement strategy that enables profitable growth across L&S products in Canada.

  • Drive collaboration with Product and Operations to price and develop competitive and reliable supply chain solutions.

  • Develop a strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to foster loyalty and drive joint value creation.

  • Manage vendor performance in close partnership with Operations.

  • Provide spend visibility and market intelligence to support procurement initiatives and gotomarket strategies.

  • Build the annual procurement Gameplan and ensure value delivery with clear P&L impact.

  • Drive deflationary Unit Cost (UC) improvements and proactively work to grow and enhance profit margins.

  • Coordinate Request for Quotation (RFQ) events and vendor selection in partnership with local and regional stakeholders.

  • Build ShouldCost models and external benchmarks to support cost leadership.

  • Support the Investment Proposal (IP) process to manage capital investments within the Area.

  • Ensure the highest levels of service quality and safety.

  • Lead the implementation of new digital sourcing and contract management tools.

  • Promote datadriven decisionmaking and a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mindset.

  • Foster high levels of employee engagement and a strong sense of belonging.

  • Develop a talent management and capabilitybuilding program including robust onboarding and training plans.

  • Build a strong operating system to manage performance and drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead by example and champion Maersks core values and winning behaviors.

  • Ensure adherence to Global Procurement guidelines and COMIT rules.

  • Drive compliance and Sustainable Procurement (SP) practices throughout the ProcuretoPay process.

  • Lead strategic projects as assigned by senior leadership.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree required; graduate studies preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation logistics or supply chain.

  • Proven experience in procurement and vendor management (essential).

  • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively and drive business outcomes in a matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated enterpriselevel leadership.

  • Strategic analytical and datasavvy mindset.

  • Strong customercentric orientation.

Pay Range: $130000-$160000 CAD

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
