Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Childrens Miracle Network and Community Development manages a portfolio of Childrens Miracle Network (CMN) fundraising programs and communitybased event partnerships that benefit Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a primary focus on raising funds for Monroe Carell Jr. Childrens Hospital at Vanderbilt. The Associate Director works collaboratively with Monroe Carell leaders CMN colleagues and community partners to grow philanthropic support amplify awareness of VUMCs mission and help identify prospects for the annual giving and major gifts pipelines.
The role serves as a key liaison to CMN fundraising partners including studentled Dance Marathon programs media partners Play Yellow initiatives and Extra Life participants providing yearround guidance stewardship and operational support to strengthen philanthropic engagement with Monroe Carell.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with development leaders to establish measurable goals and objectives aligned with funding priorities of Monroe Carell and CMN.
Manage a portfolio of studentbased and communitybased fundraising events and programs that support Monroe Carell.
Provide guidance on best practices to ensure strong fundraising results and mission alignment.
Develop and implement strategic fundraising and stewardship plans that strengthen donor relationships and foster pipeline growth.
Support all aspects of assigned fundraising events and programs including planning partner engagement volunteer coordination and postevent analysis.
Support Dance Marathon programs (college and K12) advising student leadership teams attending key meetings and events assisting with financial tracking and ensuring program compliance and stewardship.
Collaborate with media partners to support annual Radiothon event(s) including dayof logistics patient story coordination interview preparation and fundraising tracking.
Support the Extra Life gaming peer-to-peer fundraising program through community engagement stewardship and coordination of annual fundraising initiatives.
Serve as a liaison to other corporate and community partners engaged in CMN fundraising initiatives.
Assist with special corporate engagement projects as assigned.
Conduct check presentations and tours of Monroe Carell for donors and prospects.
Represent VUMC at events and prepare key leaders for attendance.
Maintain accurate fundraising records and program data using systems such as CMNs Mission Control DonorDrive and Smartsheet.
Build productive working relationships with VUMC Development colleagues Medical Center partners and CMNs national office.
Uphold departmental and institutional policies regarding confidential information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of nonprofit fundraising experience especially in health care special events or peer-to-peer fundraising.
Experience with volunteer management program growth and event planning execution and evaluation.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain solid working relationships with student groups community partners volunteers and VUMC faculty staff and leaders.
Professional attitude; able to exhibit enthusiasm persuasion and good judgment in interactions with others.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills including public speaking and written communication.
Focused and results-oriented; able to set priorities meet goals and consult with partners to resolve issues.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook Word Excel Teams PowerPoint); familiarity with Canva CRM systems and project tools (e.g. Smartsheet) preferred.
This is a full-time position.
Some travel and evening and weekend work will be required.
