Description

With more than 150 years of risk expertise WTW helps clients understand quantify and manage risk. Within our Corporate Risk & Broking division the Climate and Catastrophe Analytics team focuses on physical climate and natural catastrophe risk combining hazard science geospatial analytics and financial modelling to support underwriting portfolio management risk transfer and resilience planning. You will help clients identify quantify and manage acute and chronic physical climate hazards that can affect assets operations supply chains and financial value.

You will apply industryrecognized models and WTW data and analytics to translate hazard into decisionready metrics including financial value at risk and adaptation options. You will collaborate across the region to deliver dataled insights and exceptional service to clients in financial institutions manufacturing energy transportation real estate construction and others.



Responsibilities

This graduate programme will see you building your knowledge and skills in areas across all our CRB business. Working with and learning from industryleading colleagues you will:

  • Assist with running and interpreting catastrophe models for perils such as wind flood earthquake and storm surge to quantify portfolio losses and tail risk. Contribute to exposure data curation and validation including addresslevel geocoding and engineering attributes and perform geospatial analysis with GIS tools to support underwriting accumulation control and site screening.
  • Support climateadjusted views of risk through scenario and sensitivity analysis over short medium and long time horizons following established methods and guidance.
  • Work with broking reinsurance advisory and actuarial teams to translate technical findings into inputs for pricing structuring and risk transfer recommendations and to support actuarial analyses where appropriate.
  • Help automate workflows and build reproducible analytics in Python or SQL and produce clear visualizations and dashboards for decisionmaking.
  • Contribute to the benchmarking of vendor and internal models and to the documentation of assumptions uncertainty and limitations in clear client language.
  • Contribute to research and development activities for example improving vulnerability assumptions or refining hazard regionalization.
  • Develop your technical knowledge on challenging realworld problems for clients and present your work to internal stakeholders and progressively to clients.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and clients across sectors including financial institutions manufacturing energy transportation real estate construction and others.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A natural problem solver with strong quantitative and criticalthinking skills.

  • Comfortable with data coding and statistical analysis. Python is preferred SQL or R is useful.

  • A clear communicator who can explain complex ideas to nontechnical audiences.

  • Curious about climate science and catastrophe risk with a growth mindset and a selfdirected learning approach across formal training peer collaboration and independent study.

  • Academic: at least a secondclass upper or equivalent in civil structural or geotechnical engineering or a closely related quantitative discipline aligned to physical climate and catastrophe risk.

  • Eligibility: a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore.
