Role overview
To function as a Kitchen Porter for the Calo Kitchen supporting the culinary team by maintaining a clean organized and efficient kitchen environment. Youll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by managing cleanliness sanitation and basic kitchen support tasks. Success in this role will be determined by your ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and efficiency while supporting the team in delivering quality meals to our customers.
Main Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities
Wash and sanitize all dishes pots pans utensils and kitchen equipment
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors walls drains and work surfaces throughout the day
Empty and clean bins regularly ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal
Receive and store deliveries ensuring proper rotation of stock (FIFO)
Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required (washing peeling chopping vegetables)
Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed
Deep clean kitchen equipment and areas according to cleaning schedules
Ensure all kitchen areas comply with food safety and hygiene standards
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers
Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications
Must have 1 - 3 years of experience as a Kitchen porter or similar role within the hospitality and catering industry
Must be a proficient communicator in English
Good understanding of food health and safety regulations
Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility experience is a plus
