Job Summary

We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated colleague to join our friendly and enthusiastic retail team in our flagship shop at Creekmoor.

A keen eye for quality items and good knowledge of fashion brands are essential as you will be sorting and processing the donations primarily clothing to provide colleagues on the shop floor with the best stock to create a brilliant shopping environment.

Working in an extremely busy and fast-paced environment you will be an integral part of the team who are responsible for receiving and moving large volumes of donations that have been dropped off by our customers supporters and contractors.

You may be the first point of contact when donations are dropped off and so excellent communication skills and bright and happy outlook are essential to ensure this experience with Julias House is welcoming friendly and positive.

This is a physically demanding role and as a significant portion of this role will involve lifting and movinggoods including large cages of clothes to/from the shop and sort room manual handling training will be provided.

A strong work ethic good organisational skills the ability to apply sound judgement and be able to work under pressure are all key skills requirements of the role. You will be expected to understand and advise donors about Gift Aid and its importance to the charity.

Ideally you will have relevantexperience with excellent knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.

The contracted hours for this permanent position are 19hours per week. Hours will be based on a rota covering shop opening hours (Monday Sunday). You will be required to work a Saturday or Sunday every week as weekends are often our busiest times in the Sort Room.
