Job Summary

CMDB SME/Integration Specialist
We are seeking a ServiceNow CMDB Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Integration Specialist to design implement govern and optimize the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and enterprise integrations within the ServiceNow platform. The role requires deep expertise in CMDB data modeling Discovery Service Mapping integrations and data quality governance to support ITSM ITOM and business services.
Key Responsibilities
CMDB & CSDM
Act as CMDB SME owning CMDB strategy architecture and roadmap
Design implement and maintain CMDB data models aligned with CSDM (Common Service Data Model)
Define CI classes relationships normalization rules and lifecycle management
Ensure CMDB supports ITSM ITOM ITAM SecOps APM and Service Mapping use cases
Lead CMDB audits health dashboards and continuous improvement initiatives
Discovery & Service Mapping
Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery (Horizontal & Cloud Discovery)
Design and maintain Service Mapping for business-critical services
Troubleshoot Discovery issues credential problems and MID Server connectivity
Optimize discovery schedules patterns and identification reconciliation rules
Integrations
Design build and support integrations using:
o REST / SOAP APIs
o ServiceNow IntegrationHub & Spokes
o MID Servers
o ETL tools and scheduled imports
Integrate CMDB with third party systems such as:
o Cloud platforms (Azure AWS GCP)
o Monitoring tools (Splunk Dynatrace AppDynamics SCOM etc.)
o Asset tools security tools and DevOps pipelines
Ensure data consistency reconciliation and error handling across systems
CMDB Data Quality & Governance
Define and enforce CMDB governance policies standards and KPIs
Measure and improve CMDB health metrics:
o Completeness
o Correctness
o Compliance
o Relationship accuracy
Implement automated rules for data validation and remediation
Collaborate with platform owners operations security and architecture teams
Stakeholder & Technical Leadership
Work closely with ITSM ITOM Cloud Security and Infrastructure teams
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to ServiceNow developers and admins
Participate in architectural reviews and transformation programs
Support audits risk assessments and regulatory compliance initiatives
Technical Skills
Strong hands on experience with:
o ServiceNow CMDB
o CSDM
o Discovery & Service Mapping
o Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
Proven experience with ServiceNow integrations
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure:
o Servers networks databases middleware cloud platforms
Experience with MID Server configuration & troubleshooting
Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident Problem Change Asset)
Preferred Certifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist CMDB / ITOM
ITIL v3 / ITIL 4 certification
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Ability to work independently and lead initiatives
Documentation and process oriented mindset
Nice to Have
Experience in BFSI or regulated environments
Knowledge of ServiceNow APM ITAM or SecOps
Experience with large scale CMDB implementations (100K CIs)
Salary Range- $100000-$120000 a year
