The Senior Admin Officer is responsible for undertaking administrative financial and organisational processes under the guidance of senior staff. This includes overseeing the academy reception and the overall administration function ensuring support is provided to staff SLT and the Local Academy Council.
The role involves providing direct support to the Principal such as managing their diary prioritising incoming communications and organising meetings including minute taking. The officer handles HR-related administration specifically organising cover for staff absence processing Payroll returns and assisting with recruitment and attendance management.
Financial support includes administering the Parent Pay system managing stock within an agreed budget and processing orders using the commercial card. Finally the role requires updating record systems like SIMS and E-Finance producing reports and completing external returns such as the Pupil Census.
We are looking for a highly capable Senior Admin Officer who possesses Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths. Crucially youll need substantial experience in an office/admin role specifically developing and managing administrative systems. The ability to communicate effectively across all levels maintain confidentiality and use standard ICT packages (including Microsoft Office) is essential.
We also require you to manage competing deadlines while relating to students sympathetically and recognising potential child safeguarding issues. While not essential experience working in a school environment and an understanding of academy child safeguarding procedures would be a distinct advantage. This role requires a satisfactory DBS check and a willingness to engage in further training.
Applicants must be able to use standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office and work well under pressure.
