The Site Quality Leader for Cheltenham owns the end-to-end Quality strategy and performance for the site delivering measurable improvement across Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) with an uncompromising focus on safety.

The role sets a clear Quality vision and multi-year roadmap strengthens the Quality Management System and leads culture change to prevent defects at source reduce escapes and enable reliable delivery at lowest total cost.

The leader partners closely with Operations Engineering Supply Chain Programs and Services from New Product Introduction through production and in-service support ensuring regulatory and customer compliance product conformance effective audits and certifications robust standard work and process controls and elevated supplier quality performance.

The role develops a high-performing Quality organisation and models GE Aerospace BehavioursRespect for People Continuous Improvement and Customer Drivenwith unyielding integrity to protect flight safety and customer trust.

Job Description

Strategy and Governance

  • Define and communicate a 23 year Quality strategy tied to business outcomes (escapes FPY CoQ audit findings customer scorecards).
  • Establish site-wide governance: operating rhythms leader standard work tiered accountability and metric reviews.
  • Own regulatory and customer compliance strategy; maintain and improve approvals and certifications.

Culture and Transformation

  • Lead a site-wide cultural step-change: set expectations model behaviours coach leaders and embed standard work to sustain gains.
  • Drive adoption of practical problem solving (A3 8D) error-proofing and process controls at point of cause.

Quality Management System and Execution

  • Strengthen QMS and process controls from NPI through aftermarket support; ensure effective APQP/PPAP where applicable.
  • Own assurance and control: incoming inspection in-process verification test final inspection first article MRB and witness points.
  • Lead internal/external audits; close findings with sustainable corrective action.

Customer Regulatory and Supplier Engagement

  • Serve as senior Quality interface to key customers; manage customer scorecards and improvement plans.
  • Maintain Part 21G and Part 145 airworthiness compliance (direct/indirect accountability as applicable); lead regulator engagement.
  • Elevate supplier quality performance; drive escapes reduction and supplier capability improvement.

Leadership and Talent

  • Build and develop a high-performing Quality organization; recruit coach and succession plan.
  • Lead a mixed team of senior professionals and technicians; influence across the matrix to deliver cross-functional outcomes.

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Significant aerospace Quality leadership experience in highly regulated environments with direct accountability for site or multi-site outcomes.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and influence with senior customers regulators and peer executives; able to communicate complex issues simply and decisively.
  • Proven track record of leading measurable culture and performance transformations at scale including:
    • Baseline-to-target improvements (e.g. escapes audit findings customer scorecards)
    • Governance mechanisms (cadence metrics tier reviews leader standard work)
    • Sustained results over 12 months
  • Aftermarket and Part 145 exposure sufficient to lead in-service quality and customer support.
  • Strong command of practical problem solving and root cause (8D/A3 fishbone 5-Why) and deployment of process controls/error-proofing.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Operations Engineering and Supply Chain; able to influence without authority in a matrix.
  • Team leadership experience managing leaders and team with a track record of building talent and engagement.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering quality or related field (or equivalent experience).

Desired Qualifications

  • Combined Part 21G and Part 145 accountability; hands-on regulator/customer audit leadership.
  • APQP/PPAP FAI and production process validation experience in complex assemblies/electronics/avionics.
  • Lean/continuous improvement credentials (e.g. Green/Black Belt) with proven deployment in Quality.
  • Experience improving supplier quality performance and deploying supplier development programs.
  • Masters degree or relevant advanced certification (e.g. ASQ CQE/CQM).
  • Models respect for people continuous improvement and customer focus
