Business Analyst (Junior)
Missions
- Provide functional support to risk analysts and front office teams on credit risk processes
- Gather requirements from business partners and manage them according to the priorities defined by the Product Owner
- Perform data analysis in the context of understanding requirements defining solutions and testing
- Communicate findings effectively to users and management to facilitate appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with users and other business analysts to understand user needs and translate requirements into functional solutions
- Write functional specifications and document system and process workflows
- Ensure that agile and continuous delivery methodologies are followed
- Ensure that features are properly tested and that required artifacts are produced
- Coordinate and execute testing phases across different environments and present test results to users
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders located in multiple regions (US Europe India)
Profile
Required / Must Have
- University degree in a relevant field
- At least one experience in a financial institution as a Business Analyst
- Comfortable acting as a point of contact for business stakeholders and understanding/documenting business needs and priorities
- Strong desire to learn and contribute ideas and solutions to the team
- Curious mindset with the ability to understand business challenges and identify solutions
- Critical and creative thinking skills to explore multiple approaches to problem-solving
- Ability to read (and ideally perform small updates to) Python scripts
- Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to analyze and provide/receive constructive feedback
Functional and Technical Skills (Required)
- Knowledge of Investment Banking
- Strong technical documentation and professional written communication skills
- Good working knowledge of SQL
- Ability to write queries joining data across multiple tables for analysis and testing
- Ability to read stored procedures for investigation purposes
- Experience with Power BI
- Familiarity with data integration concepts (APIs databases ETL files etc.)
- Experience in Python scripting for automation data manipulation and troubleshooting
- Ability to develop and maintain scripts to support business analysis and operational efficiency
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments including command-line troubleshooting and script execution
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Understanding of Credit and Counterparty Risk concepts
- High-level understanding of capital markets products (secured financing transactions derivatives) or corporate loans
- Knowledge of US or international financial regulations
- Experience with ETL tools
Language Requirement
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required as this role involves regular collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States.
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
