    Work Year: 175 Days 151 Student Contact Days
    Specialists must participate in New Teacher Orientation as a condition of employment
    Salary Range: $65946-$118516 ($65946-$80966 for external candidates dependent on experience and education)
    FLSA Classification:Exempt


    Job Summary:
    Occupational therapists in Pueblo School District 70 provide services for students receiving special education who need direct or indirect school-based occupational therapy services as determined by the IEP team. Work involves evaluating students to determine need for occupational therapy; developing appropriate therapy programs including routines for classroom and home adaptation; and providing therapy to students. Services include direct service and/or consultation with school staff families medical personnel community agencies and others as needed. Employee is responsible for documenting planning and treatment activities preparing reports of students progress and consulting with parents and classroom teachers. Employee is also responsible for modifications of equipment and/or environment and in-service training. Problems that arise in the treatment program are expected to be resolved independently. Errors in the treatment could cause serious harm to students and potential liability to the school system.
