The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing medical support to students including urgent medical care management of routine health needs and accurate administration of medications. This role works in a dynamic fastpaced residential school environment and plays a vital part in the wellbeing of our students.
The Registered Nurse also collaborates closely with our psychiatrist during monthly student appointments supports communication with parents regarding medical needs and assists in training and overseeing nursing team members. Shared oncall hours apply for emergencies only.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical evaluation and care for student injuries illnesses and emergencies
- Organize track and accurately administer prescribed medications
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and communication with parents and providers
- Participate in shared oncall rotation for urgent medical situations
- Coordinate with the program psychiatrist and support student medication management
- Lead train and support nursing team members
- Foster a safe supportive and professional healthcare environment within the residential school setting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 21
- Valid Montana drivers license with a clean driving record
- Active RN license in the State of Montana
- Ability to pass a Montana State background check
- Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficient in medical terminology charting and medication administration
- Skilled in using standard nursing tools and assessing physical conditions
- Familiar with word processing software and basic network navigation
- Experience or knowledge of health insurance submission processes.
- Skill in assessing the physical condition of the clients
- Skill in communicating medical situations accurately to students parents and staff
- Willingness to receive professional feedback and pursue ongoing training
- CAQH profile and NPI number required for credentialing
