This role is dedicated to providing effective social work support and intervention to safeguard and enhance the welfare of children in need. The position aims to ensure that children maintain a reasonable standard of health and development receive appropriate parenting and experience a sense of permanence. For children with disabilities the role involves minimizing the impact of their disabilities to enable them to lead as normal a life as possible. The role also focuses on securing timely permanence for children unable to live at home and addressing the needs of children in care according to their care or pathway plans. The position emphasizes child-centered practice professional leadership and collaboration with parents carers and other stakeholders to ensure the well-being and potential fulfillment of children.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver reliable and effective social work interventions to promote childrens welfare.
- Identify and secure timely permanence for children unable to live at home.
- Address the needs of children in care according to their care or pathway plans.
- Practice child-centered assessment planning intervention and review.
- Provide professional leadership to ensure collaborative efforts in meeting childrens needs.
- Work with parents/carers to strengthen protective factors and reduce risks to childrens welfare.
- Collaborate with foster carers special guardians and prospective adopters to meet childrens needs and prepare them for adulthood.
Requirements

- Proven experience in social work particularly with children in need.
- Strong understanding of child development and welfare standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including parents carers and other professionals.
- Effective leadership skills to guide and coordinate professional efforts.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children and families.
- Ability to assess and address the needs of children with disabilities.
- Commitment to child-centered practice and safeguarding childrens welfare.
