3-month contract role with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
The Estate Services Manager Building Services & Maintenance will oversee cleaning and estate services operations across South West London.
This temporary position involves managing a team of 13 cleaners (primarily static site-based with some mobile rounds) ensuring high standards of cleanliness compliance and service delivery.
The role is predominantly site-based (approximately 70%) with some office/home working (30%) depending on business needs.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Line management of 13 cleaners including performance management supervision and support.
Oversee daily cleaning and estate services operations across allocated sites in South West London.
Ensure service standards KPIs and compliance requirements are consistently met.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
Manage staff rotas absence and cover arrangements.
Support recruitment induction and training of cleaning staff.
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and respond to service requests or complaints.
Manage equipment and materials including use of company vehicle (new van provided).
Report on performance and escalate operational issues where required.
Skills/Experience:
Proven experience in estate services cleaning services or facilities management.
Experience managing or supervising cleaning teams (ideally 10 staff).
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations within cleaning/building services.
Experience managing both static and mobile cleaning teams.
Good organisational and rota management skills.
Ability to conduct inspections and maintain service standards.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Full UK driving licence (due to mobile rounds and van use).

35 hours per week.
Limited/Umbrella: 25.20 per hour.
Location: Vassall Road Brixton London (covering South West London).
