At Worley were delivering a more sustainable world. As a Senior Instrumentation Engineer youll apply advanced engineering knowledge to support highimpact offshore developmentshelping design and integrate control safety and automation systems that protect people assets and the environment.
Purpose of the role
In this role youll work independently at a senior level applying advanced instrumentation and control engineering principles across a wide variety of offshore systems. Youll develop philosophies specifications architectures and safetycritical documentation that enable safe compliant and highperforming facilities. Youll provide technical leadership guide multidisciplinary teams and influence decisions that shape project outcomes.
Core responsibilities
- Apply advanced instrumentation and control engineering principles to offshore facility systems.
- Develop philosophies for integrated control and safety systems (ICSS) process control systems safetyinstrumented systems (SIS) highintegrity pressure protection systems (HIPPS) telecommunications and CCTV.
- Prepare specifications and data sheets for instruments control panels and safety systems.
- Design system architectures demonstrating interaction between control safety telecom and surveillance systems.
- Develop causeandeffect (C&E) diagrams control philosophies safety philosophies and telecom/CCTV architecture diagrams.
- Support hazardous area classification studies and ensure full compliance with applicable standards.
- Integrate subsea fiberoptic systems and define interconnection requirements between offshore installations.
- Prepare instrument calculations routing requirements and cable routing for control and instrumentation systems.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican regulations (ASEA NOM LTMMH) maritime/coastal requirements and international standards (IEC ISO API ASME AMPP NFPA IEEE IEC 61511).
- Support HAZOP LOPA SIL assessments and safetyinstrumented function evaluations in accordance with IEC 61508/61511.
- Provide seniorlevel guidance to engineers and designers (up to 10 direct reports) and support coordination across large project teams.
- Prepare and deliver proposals presentations and reports for stakeholders and leadership.
- Work with broad objectives and priorities influencing adjacent workstreams and ensuring technical quality.
Skills & experience
- Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Control Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Fluent English required.
- Experience in offshore projects is mandatory (MUST).
- Deep knowledge of ICSS process control safety instrumented systems HIPPS telecom and CCTV architectures.
- Expertise in instrument specifications data sheets calculations and safety documentation.
- Strong understanding of Mexican standards (ASEA NOM LTMMH) and international standards (IEC/ISO/API/ASME/AMPP/NFPA/IEEE/IEC 61511).
- Ability to work independently with strong technical judgment and problemsolving capability.
- Proven experience guiding engineering and design teams; supervisory or mentoring experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to inform influence and collaborate on complex topics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and Teams.
- Strong analytical organizational and documentation skills with the ability to manage information from multiple sources.
- Able to prioritize workload ensure timely deliverables and uphold right the first time quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills diplomacy and ability to build effective working relationships.
