Job Summary
Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager this role involves responsibilities for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost quality and delivery improvements in order to support a PCBA manufacturing organization.
What a typical day looks like:
- Define implement and control critical repair processes for electronic assemblies (PCBA) in SMT ICT backend and functional test lines.
- Perform rootcause analysis using 8D RCA Ishikawa Diagram Pareto and Process FMEA.
- Establish repair criteria and rework limits according to IPC standards and customer requirements.
- Validate equipment tools thermal profiles and repair methods.
- Provide technical support to Production Quality NPI and Test during linedown events or quality escapes.
- Ensure complete traceability of critical repairs within the manufacturing system.
- Develop update and release work instructions visual aids and process documentation.
- Train evaluate and certify repair technicians according to IPC7711/7721.
- Actively participate in internal customer and certification audits.
- Approve or reject critical repairs on inprocess and finished products.
- Define scrap needs when product reliabilityelectrical or mechanicalis compromised.
- Stop production flow when quality risks or noncompliance to standards are detected.
- Approve temporary process deviations in conjunction with the Quality team.
Experience were looking to add to our team:
- Bachelors degree in Electronics Mechatronics Industrial Engineering or related field (degree required).
- 38 years in electronic manufacturing processes with a focus on critical repair or process engineering.
- SMT and PHT processes.
- Creation of profiling cards.
- Creation and interpretation of repair profiles and temperature curves.
- Operation and maintenance of rework equipment such as SRT miniwave AIRVAC soldering stations among others.
- Advanced PCBA repair (BGA QFN LGA finepitch components pads and traces).
- IPC standards: IPC7711/7721 IPCA610 JSTD033 JSTD020.
- ESD control in electronic manufacturing environments.
- Lean 5W SPC PFMEA flowcharting and rootcause analysis.
