About the role:

We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to provide high quality financial accounting services to the key Business Streams within BaptistCare. This includes Residential and Retirement Living At Home Community Services and Housing and Support Services. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

Reporting to the Head of Finance - Corporate this role will see you provide efficient support to the team by:

• Sourcing bank files and categorising the transactions on a daily basis
• Alerting the business to receipt transactions and following up overdue items
• Preparing journal ERP entries
• Managing Donation transfers and preparing related journals
• Managing the Accounts Receivable inbox
• Preparing Corporate billings and following up overdue items
• Assisting with other accounting tasks assigned to the role including but not limited to journals reconciliations preparation of data for regulatory reporting and external audits.
• Assisting the Head of Finance Corporate with ad-hoc tasks and analysis.

About you:

To be considered you will have:

• Diploma of Accounting qualification or higher
• Relevant workplace experience in a similar role
• High proficiency in Financial Management System (FMS) such as TechOne and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively and build professional relationships
• Time management skills to effectively manage and prioritise tasks
