About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial leader to join Centurions Specialised Services division as Head of Commercial on a 9-month maternity leave contract.
This senior leadership role is responsible for leading the Commercial function across the Specialised Services division. You will drive commercial performance oversee contract governance manage pricing and tender activity and partner with senior stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth and strong financial outcomes.
This is a high-impact role suited to an experienced commercial leader who thrives in complex logistics environments and is passionate about delivering strategic growth profitability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Contract Management
- Lead governance of the Business Unit contract register and variations
- Review and negotiate customer contracts to ensure sustainable and profitable outcomes
- Manage contractual compliance reporting and commercial risk
- Drive rate reviews rise and fall mechanisms fuel levies and incentive margin calculations
- Prepare business cases board papers and commercial submissions
- Partner with Business Unit GMs and EGMs in customer engagements and presentations
Pricing & Major Tenders
- Govern standardised pricing processes across Specialised Services
- Manage divisional pricing and cost models
- Lead commercial input into major tenders and new business opportunities
- Support pricing strategies to achieve target GM and EBIT outcomes
- Review contract performance against pricing models
- Develop commercial strategy and negotiate key agreements
Financial Performance & Strategic Growth
- Lead national P&L performance across major customer portfolios
- Conduct revenue and profitability analysis across accounts
- Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Partner with Finance on budgets forecasts and capital investment submissions
- Provide business intelligence and insights to senior leadership
- Champion continuous improvement and commercial innovation
Customer Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong executive-level customer relationships
- Act as the commercial conduit between operations and customers
- Attend quarterly business reviews and strategic meetings
- Support growth initiatives and share-of-wallet expansion
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Supply Chain or Logistics
- 8 years experience in a senior commercial leadership role
- Experience managing high-performing commercial teams
- Strong background in contract negotiation and governance
- Deep understanding of revenue models P&L management cost-to-serve and commercial analytics
- Experience within a large logistics or contract logistics environment (highly desirable)
- CA or CPA qualification (desirable)
