Job Summary

Temporary Summer Academy Classroom Assistant

Temporary Summer Classroom Assistants are needed to support the Summer Academy program in K-8 classes at Rochester Community Schools. Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until they are filled.

Classroom assistants will be expected to support the implementation of instructional techniques that will improve student achievement. Emphasis will be placed on higher-level thinking skills organizational skills integration of knowledge connecting learning to prior knowledge cooperative learning active learner participation and technology integration. The actual number of positions depends on enrollment.

McGregor Elementary

June-30 July 1 2 (12 days)

Staff Hours: 8:00 am 12:30 pm

Student Hours: 8:15 am 12:15 pm

Mandatory Staff Meeting and Room Prep: June 11th (8:00 am 12:30 pm)

Mandatory Clean-up/Check-out: July 2nd (stay until 1:00 pm)

Interviews are scheduled for March.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Desire to work with at-risk students.
  2. Willingness to work with students who need to be academically challenged.
  3. Must be available to work the entire length of the program.

SALARY:

Stipend $1475 (grant-funded) contingent on all designated working days which will be adjusted accordingly if all working days are unmet. $25/hour x 59 hours

Selection of an individual to fill these temporary positions will be determined by the Summer Learning Program administrators based upon applicant experience qualifications and professional attributes.

After a detailed paper screening of all candidate credentials is completed only applicants who will be invited to interview will receive contact from the Program Supervisor.
