In Short:The Distribution Center Specialist will support the mission of Food Bank for the Heartland (FBFH) to reduce food insecurity by applying and carrying through the operational aspects of food inventory control order fulfillment and warehousing operations. This role will co-operation between multiple addition this role is accountable for achieving operational results by supporting departmental strategies and specific objectives in alignment with FBFHs strategic plan.

Your Mission:
  • Assist in accurate replenishment and transfer inventory as directed by the supervisor for products in the freezer cooler pick lines and flow racking.
  • Fulfill outgoing product orders including dry freezer and cooler products ensuring each is complete and accurate.
  • Assist in the management of inventory to ensure outbound orders and warehouse inventory are accurate. Report inaccurate counts to the supervisor. Support any plans of action to correct inaccurate counts.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork associated with outbound order processing including Sales Orders and inventory documentation.
  • Assure the safety of all food products through the safe storage and handling of all products.
  • Assure food quality through the appropriate handling of all products as communicated through FBFH procedures and/or the Distribution Center Manager.
  • Abide by all safety rules regulations and procedures. Report incidents or safety hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible. Report any equipment maintenance or repair needs to the Distribution Center Manager.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all aspects of the warehouse. Clean areas daily removing debris and ensuring all trash is removed. Immediately clean up any spills or slip hazards.
  • Participate in cross-training across operational lanes to support outbound order fulfillment during peak volumes or staffing gaps.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Commitment to the FBFH mission and values
  • Computer and technology skills around Microsoft Office and general technology.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently commit to trustworthiness dependability and reliability.
  • Ability to establish credibility trust and partnership at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to withstand working in various elements.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
Your Story:
  • Warehouse experience desired.
  • High School Graduate or GED preferred.
  • Lived experience with the impacts of systemic racism or marginalization is a plus.
  • Prior experience with forklift and pallet walker a plus. (FBFH with certify regardless)
