As an Application Sales Specialist you are the technical backbone of our sales organization. You translate complex technical applications into smart feasible and futureproof solutions for customers in industry and machine building.
This is a role with variety autonomy and a strong team spirit.
About the Role
Due to the growth of our team we are looking for an Application Sales Specialist to support our PLC and lowvoltage drive solutions. You work closely with account managers system integrators and OEMs to develop the best automation solutions.
Important addition:
During the first 6 months you will mainly work from the back office.
You will support the team with handling inquiries technical questions and configurations while completing an extensive onboarding and training program. This allows you to thoroughly understand our products processes and customers before visiting them independently.
You will join a professional team of six colleagues where openness downtoearth teamwork and a friendly atmosphere are central and where everyone contributes to shared success.
What You Will Do
- Support sales during the presales and sales phases: from clarifying customer needs to technical configuration.
- Translate technical applications and customer challenges into suitable ABB solutions.
- Perform technical calculations selections and recommendations for PLCs and drives.
- Advise customers and system integrators across various industrial sectors.
- Collaborate closely with sales service product management and engineering teams.
- Stay up to date with market developments and technological innovations.
- Visit customers and regularly come to the office for team meetings knowledge sharing and customer discussions.
- Focus on backoffice tasks and training during the first six months before moving into a more external-facing role.

Your Profile
You will be successful in this role if you:
- Have a bachelor-level working/thinking background Electrical Engineering is a strong plus.
- Have at least 3 years of experience in technical sales or technical support within the electrotechnical sector.
- Have electrical engineering knowledge (required).
- Have knowledge of PLCs or drives or are eager to learn quickly (nice to have).
- Understand how technical applications work within industrial environments.
- Work decisively honestly and solutionoriented.
- Enjoy teamwork but can also communicate independently with customers.
- Communicate well in Dutch and English.
