JOB DESCRIPTION:
Financial Compliance:
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive framework for financial compliance encompassing regulatory adherence risk mitigation and preserving the organizations financial integrity.
- Monitor performance and financial compliance against SOPs and financial KPIs.
- Review financial records and reports to detect any irregularities weaknesses or issues needing further investigation including KYCs and CDD for customers and suppliers.
- Review and ensure compliance with government regulations regarding financial activities such as taxation securities trading banking and insurance.
- Review and ensure compliance with the administration requirements across operations (e.g. Insurance Coverage).
- Review and report the monthly compliance Dashboard for the results of ICQs the status of the Compliance Assignment and any other issues to the CEO and Head of Financial Controlling.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Oversee the implementation of the compliance framework as approved by the ARC and Board.
- Lead the preparation of the annual compliance audit plan with the CEO and secure approvals from the ARC.
- Ensure the performance of semi-annual self-assessment reviews of regulations by the divisions and the implementation of the annual compliance audit.
- Review instances of non-compliance and ensure follow-up actions are performed.
- Report the regulatory compliance dashboard to the CEO on a timely basis.
- Review the results of compliance audits and report to the CEO and ARC.
Group/Operational Compliance:
- Lead the actions in conducting thorough investigations of reported compliance violations or concerns. Ensure prompt resolution implement corrective actions and guide to prevent future non-compliance.
- Analyse material variance to detect causes and implement corrective actions with regular reports to the CEO.
- Conduct investigations and analysis when required to review transactions and documentation to ensure compliance including fraud investigations and reporting findings.
- Monitor company assets to ensure they are protected from loss due to theft or mismanagement.
Internal Audit:
- Lead and prepare the internal audit plan annually with KPMG and the Division Heads to obtain confirmation and approvals.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to audit findings and identified non-conformities implement necessary corrective actions and follow up on recommendations with the Divisions.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate and support audits follow up on findings prepare pre-audits collate and organize the documents and determine each partys access.
- Responsible for executing the internal audit program for the company in close coordination with the Line Manager by identifying risk factors and recommending appropriate solutions.
Risk Management:
- Ensure that the Groups Risk framework and design align with organizational standards to eliminate potential threats.
- Review and advise on continual improvements and support management of the risk management framework and tools.
- Report the current risk and compliance performance status to business functions highlighting areas of concern and potential threats and implementing robust and effective compliance controls to mitigate risks.
- Review and assess the businesss future ventures to identify possible compliance risks and develop necessary mitigation plans.
- Advise the Risk Management Committee on any novelties and expected changes in the Business Risk Profile.
- Review the audit approach scope and risk profile with the internal auditors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least a bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related compliance field.
- Professional Qualifications in accounting such as CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA/CIA.
- Professional certification in Compliance ICA from the International Compliance Association.
- Certificate of Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) or equivalent certification will be preferred.
EXPERIENCE TRAINING AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification work experience in managing an accounting/finance function of a medium or large-sized service organization.
- PC proficient in MS Office and related internal systems.
- Written and spoken skills in English and Arabic.
- Knowledge of applicable local laws.
- Knowledge of finance accounting budgeting forecasting and financial standards including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
