This position sits within our Product Development division which develops tests and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity

ConstructConnect is seeking a Software Engineer I (SE I) to join our growing team. As an SE I youll leverage modern technologies to solve complex problems and implement scalable solutions deploying them to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) via our CI/CD pipelines. Youll work hands-on with RESTful APIsdesigning integrating and maintaining reliable interfaces that power seamless communication across our systems. Your passion for learning will drive continuous improvements to our applications. Youll collaborate closely with your team to break down tasks into manageable testable components delivering high-quality solutions through Test-Driven Development and automated testing. Responsibilities

What Youll Be Doing

  • Build low-latencyhighly available and performant applications
  • Build reusable code and libraries using test-driven development
  • Logicallyidentifyand resolve issues using root cause analysis
  • Adhere to our coding standards
  • Use proper branching and code review processes
  • Provide estimates for the level of effort and time for completion
  • Work closely with your team to build automated tests and ensure they are valuable and our applications meet expectations
  • Work closely with your team to break down features into small testable stories
  • Support AI integration: Collaborate with senior engineers to implement AI-driven features and functionalities within applications ensuring smooth integration and enhancing overall performance.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

Required:

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalentexperience
  • 1-3years experiencewithPython(C#/.NetExperience a plus)
  • Experience with API and Microservice Development
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity withGCP services - Cloud Run Cloud FunctionsFirestore Pub/Sub GCS
  • Experience with SQL and relational databasesORNoSqldatabases
  • Familiarity with Git or other SCM tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the necessary steps within a pipeline
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Experience (or open to) using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • A strong desireto write testable code and work closely with your team to ensure our applications are of the highest quality
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and suggesting solutions
  • Eager to learn

Preferred:

  • Familiaritywith Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understands API gateway concepts (auth routing policies) using Apigee or similar
  • Familiar with event-driven patterns (SSE Pub/Sub) for system communication
  • Familiar with secure file handling with signed URLs scanning and supported file types (.pdf .jpg)
  • Familiarity withFastAPI
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with Terraform
  • Experience with feature flags

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting telephone communication working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
  • Team members who live within commuting distance of our Atlanta office are expected to work in a hybrid capacity with regular in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • All team members must reside and perform their work within the United States
