Job Summary
Job Title: Senior Software Configuration/Release Engineer - Hybrid
Duration (Contract): 2 12 Months

Job Description:
As a Senior Software Configuration/Release Engineer you will design automate and maintain cloud configuration release and infrastructure management processes across enterprise AWS environments. You will ensure highly available secure and compliant platforms through Infrastructure as Code automated patching and backups and certificate governance while partnering closely with DevOps Security and Infrastructure teams to support reliable statewide services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain configuration management standards and processes for AWS environments.
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision and govern AWS resources.
- Support release engineering through automated CI/CD pipelines and environment readiness.
- Implement and monitor automated backup and disaster recovery solutions meeting retention requirements.
- Establish automated patching workflows and conduct configuration and compliance audits.
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates across AWS services to ensure secure communications.
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations IaC modules and environment changes.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to ensure governance resiliency and compliance.
- Provide guidance and training on cloud best practices automation and governance.
Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:
- 8 years of experience in configuration management with strong AWS expertise.
- Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2 S3 RDS IAM and ACM.
- Experience implementing cloud backups automated patching and compliance controls.
- Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate management and security best practices.
- Experience supporting and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for cloud releases.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent experience.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $55.00 to $75.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
