Job Summary

Computacenter is Europes leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services enabling users and their Platform Engineer is responsible for designing building and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that support software development and deployment. This role involves working with cloud platforms implementing automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) managing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring the reliability scalability and security of the platform.
What youll do
- Automate the DevOps lifecycle: Assemble the tools and processes that permit automation of development tasks within the DevOps lifecycle.
- Build bespoke internal tools: Create custom tools and services that create new APIs CLIs and apps allowing developers to stay focused on product engineering.
- Provision and monitor infrastructure: Implement the workflows that allow new infrastructure resources and development environments to be created on demand.
- Maintain and iterate upon IDPs: The platform team provides centralized IDPs that developers can use to achieve their aims. They maintain the platform as dev teams publish new requirements.
- Support teams using the platform: Promote and mentor developers to encourage platform adoption promote its capabilities and solve any usability queries.
- Debug and resolve reported issues: Using observability suites to efficiently locate the causes of reported problems and then apply fixes before they significantly impact developer workflows.
- Assess the opportunities offered by new tools: Regularly review tools that become available in the industry and assess how they could be integrated into the IDP running POC and looking to innovate. Working with customer development teams to capture feedback on platform performance. This facilitates continual platform improvement in turn enabling iterative optimization of the DevOps delivery lifecycle.
What youll need
Product Ownership & Technical Requirements
- Strong experience in Agile product ownership (Scrum SAFe Kanban).
- Write clear user stories and prioritize features based on business value.
- Build CI/CD Pipelines
- Proficiency in IaC tools like Terraforrm Ansible and Puppet
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture
- Identify any security issues and remediate
- Keep abreast of industry best practises and emerging technologies and their potential to enhance the performance of the services

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills able to work with other teams to identify opportunities and build
