Gillette is currently in search of a casual Sonographer to help cover our increased need at our two St. Paul locations and Maple Grove clinic. General hours of operation are Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:15am 5:00pm. RDMS certification required. Experience with pediatrics a plus.
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines. Technologists work with patients of all ages cultures and physical conditions providing efficient and effective customer service within the Imaging department.
Compensation Information:
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $38.35/hour to $55.93/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field education and certification/licensure. This position is also eligible for shift differential pay.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical pathological diagnostic information and images.
- Uses independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings and optimize imaging.
- Analyses sonograms synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
- Respond to physician orders for diagnostic imaging procedures by producing high quality images which meet the expectations of the ordering physicians and radiologists.
- Proficient in sonography exams including:
- Abdomen
- Small Parts
- Venous Doppler
- Proficient or willing to become proficient in pediatric MSK exams.
- Obtain optimum quality diagnostic images according to protocol and guidelines.
Qualifications
Required:
- Certified registered and in good standing with the ARDMS and RVT OR must complete RVT certification within 12 months of employment.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette) candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
- Experience working with pediatric and/or disabled populations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of leadership and interpersonal communications as it relates to patients families co-workers medical staff and others.
- Excellent customer service skills.
