A high-achieving secondary school in Godalming is looking for a dedicated School Caretaker to join their experienced site team. We need someone who is handy with tools and committed to maintaining a high-standard aesthetic across a beautiful campus.
The Snapshot
Location: Godalming Surrey (Accessible via A3 and South Western Railway)
Salary: Surrey Pay Grade (Competitive)
Contract: Full-time Permanent (Year-round)
Requirement: Enhanced DBS and a clean driving license preferred for school vehicle use.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Management: Working closely with the Site Manager to monitor heating lighting and ventilation systems (BMS).
Health & Safety: Ensuring all walkways are safe and that the school meets all COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
Site Improvement: Assisting in the decoration and refurbishment of classrooms during school holiday periods.
Contractor Liaison: Supervising external tradespeople and ensuring they adhere to school safety protocols.
Candidate Profile
Technical Knowledge: An understanding of building systems or a background in a trade (e.g. electrical or plumbing) is a plus.
Physically Active: This role involves manual handling working at heights (ladders) and extensive movement across the site.
Organized: Ability to manage a digital ticketing system for maintenance requests.
