Job Summary

The BI analyst sits within the Business Insight function within the wider data team
acting as a business partner and serving the entire business. The role is pivotal in
transforming data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decisions across the
organisation. Working with modern BI tools including Power BI SAP Business
Objects and a cloud native Azure Data Platform to maintain and deliver high quality
dashboards reports and data models.

Day to day well trust you to:

Data Analysis and Reporting

Design develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using
Power BI and SAP Business Objects to support business decision-making
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions
that deliver actionable insights
Recognise data gaps when evaluating reporting requirements and identify
data sources that are appropriate to include in the data platform

Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and
delivery high impact BI solution
Provide training and support to end users to promote self-service analytics
and data literacy

Data Integration and Modelling

Collaborate with data engineers and data architects to source transform and
model data from the Data Platform
Build and optimise semantic data models to ensure performance and
scalability across BI tools

Data Governance and Quality

Ensure data accuracy consistency and integrity across reports and
dashboards
Contribute to data governance initiatives including metadata management
data cataloguing and documentation

Performance Monitoring and Optimisation

Monitor BI solution performance and uptake and proactively identify
opportunities for improvement (either directly or via appropriate technical
support
Optimise queries and data models for efficient data retrieval and visualisation
Provide front line support for the Business Object environment using the
Central Management Console

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Stay current with BI and cloud analytics trends tools and best practices
Recommend and implement enhancements to improve the BI ecosystem and
user experience

Youll need to have:

Technical skills

Proficiency in PowerBI: data modelling DAX Power Query and
report/dashboard development
Experience with SAP Business Objects (Web Intelligence Universe Design
etc.)
Strong SQL skills and understanding of data warehousing concepts
Familiarity with Azure data services such as Data Lake Synapse Analytics
SQL Database Data Factory
Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines

Analytical and Business Skills

Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly to non-
technical stakeholders
Strong problem solving and a meticulous attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement
