Job Description: KCNA Social Media Manager Content & Operations
Location: Greater Chicago Metro Area (Remote/Hybrid)
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Travel: Up to 10% (not likely that much) maybe once a quarter
Max Bill Rate: Flexible based upon experience $40-$50/hr.

The KCNA Social Media/ Incubation team is seeking a highly creative trend-savvy organized and execution-focused Social Media Manager Content & Operations to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes social media has a sharp eye for design and video editing as well as someone who excels at translating strategy into action thrives on managing multiple moving parts simultaneously.
You ll be responsible for producing engaging platform-native content (a mix of videography photography and static graphic design) while also supporting the sourcing of UGC EGC and other partner-produced content. Other responsibilities will include executing campaigns across all platforms optimizing performance fostering regular communication with key stakeholders and ensuring consistent brand voice & relevance across social serving as the operational backbone that fulfills the teams strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily social operations including Content Creation (60%)
o Create thumb-stopping content that resonates with diverse audiences across platforms like Instagram TikTok and Facebook including but not limited to shooting original videos and taking photos
o Design static graphics produce short-form videos while maintaining project timelines
o Coordinate content production workflows with stakeholders managing asset requests approvals and publishing schedules
o Write copy for post captions & supplement proactive engagement responsibilities of the Consumer Engagement team
o Collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to align content with brand strategy and campaign goals
o Stay ahead of social trends platform updates and emerging formats to inform content strategy including Generative AI and AI-assisted content production
o Expected to be willing to appear on camera within produced content
o Source and vet potential creator partnership opportunities that align with strategic objectives
o Serve as primary coordinator for external content creator relationships managing contracts deliverables timelines and quality control in partnership with Influencer Team when appropriate
o Running brand s organic social handles include engaging via DM with brand followers and prospective audiences while maintaining the brand s expression.
Social Media Operations & Tactical Execution (40%)
o Plan and execute social media campaigns including platform coordination and performance tracking
o Partner with appropriate members of social media team to implement performance metrics identify optimization insights & opportunities for tactical improvements to content and engagement strategies
o Maintain social media content calendars across multiple platforms ensuring strategic alignment and brand consistency
o Monitor social media trends and platform updates providing tactical recommendations for content optimization
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in marketing communications design or a related field preferred
2-3 years of experience in social media management with demonstrated experience in operational coordination and campaign execution
Excellent copywriting and communication skills and proven experience content creation and coordination
Strong graphic design videography photography and video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite Canva CapCut etc.)
o Please be prepared to provide a portfolio showcasing your best design work or standout social content that demonstrates your creative impact
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously
Deep understanding of social media platforms trends best practices and content optimization techniques
Experience with social media management tools (Sprinklr preferred)
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Experience with social media analytics and performance reporting
Must have experience creating social media content. Products included will be pet care and filtration. Having a dog or access to a dog for social media posts/demonstrations is highly desired. Should feel comfortable being on camera (not camera facing as much as demonstrating). Must have experience with Facebook Instagram and TikTok. Will be provided with software to create some content but will use cell phone as well to take creative videos. Monitoring social media platorms. Will be interacting with senior managers -should have good project management and strategic thinking skills. Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal direction the majority of the time.
