Network Security Engineer (x2)

Location: LATAM - Remote

Duration: 12 Months

Pay Rate: $40 - 45/hr on W2

Position overview

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and maintaining secure network infrastructures across on-premises and cloud environments with a strong focus on firewalls Zero Trust and secure access solutions. This role partners closely with architecture operations and application teams to ensure resilient compliant and well-documented security controls.

Key responsibilities

Design implement and maintain multi-vendor firewall solutions including rule analysis optimization and migration between platforms.
Develop and enforce firewall and network security policies that support business needs while minimizing risk.
Architect and implement Zero Trust network segmentation and identity-centric access policies across data centers branches and cloud.
Apply Zero Trust frameworks (such as NIST or equivalent) to guide network and security design decisions.
Deploy and manage SASE solutions with a focus on Netskope including configuration tuning and ongoing policy lifecycle management.
Implement and maintain ZTNA capabilities to provide secure least-privilege access to internal applications.
Configure monitor and optimize perimeter security tools including WAF IDS/IPS VPN and related access control mechanisms.
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to securely onboard new services behind WAF VPN and other perimeter security controls.
Design and support secure cloud networking across Azure AWS and GCP including cloud-native firewalls routing and traffic inspection architectures.
Integrate cloud and on-premises security controls to support hybrid connectivity inspection and monitoring.
Create and maintain detailed runbooks standard operating procedures and design documentation for network security platforms and services.
Ensure network security configurations and processes align with internal policies regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Assist in security incident response related to network and perimeter events performing analysis containment and remediation.
Participate in on-call rotation and change management processes to support 24/7 operations.

Required qualifications

Proven experience in a network security engineering or similar role with responsibility for enterprise firewalls and perimeter security.
Hands-on experience with at least two major firewall vendors (for example Palo Alto Networks Cisco Check Point Fortinet) including policy design and migrations.
Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles network segmentation and identity-aware access controls.
Practical experience deploying or managing SASE solutions ideally including Netskope (private access secure web gateway and/or CASB/ZTNA components).
Working knowledge of perimeter security technologies: WAF IDS/IPS VPN and network access control concepts.
Experience with cloud networking and security controls in Azure AWS and/or GCP including security groups NSGs cloud firewalls and inspection architectures.
Ability to produce clear accurate documentation (runbooks diagrams standards) and to maintain version-controlled artifacts.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP routing switching DNS and common enterprise network architectures.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST ISO 27001 CIS Benchmarks) and their application to network security.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex network and security issues under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred qualifications (nice to have)
Relevant certifications such as CISSP CCSP CCNP Security PCNSE NSE or equivalent firewall/vendor certifications.
Experience with automation or scripting (Python PowerShell Terraform or similar) for policy management and configuration-as-code.
Experience integrating network security tools with SIEM/SOAR platforms for monitoring and response.
