Job Summary

POSTING OF VACANCY

Occupational Therapist

District Wide (School TBD)

2026-2027 School Year

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts license in Occupational Therapy.
  • Demonstrated proficient knowledge of child development with emphasis in anatomical and neurological maturation and its influence on development.
  • Educational background in kinesiology anatomy neuroanatomy neurology physiology physical pathology occupational therapy treatment techniques with emphasis on activity analysis psychopathology psychiatric occupational therapy and sensory integration.
  • A minimum of six months clinical practice.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with educational personnel.
  • Safety Care CPR and first aid training preferred and/or willing to be trained.
  • Experience conducting Assistive Technology Evaluations preferred
  • Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services for eligible students as articulated by the Individualized Education Program
  • Administer assessments/evaluations for students with suspected disabilities
  • Responsible for report writing and participation in IEP meetings
  • Develop goals and objectives for eligible students
  • Provide consultation and monitoring of the recommendations suggested in the assessment report to the teachers and other support staff.
  • Suggest and/or provide adaptive equipment necessary for independence in activities of daily living as appropriate.
  • Actively engage as a partner in the Instructional Support Team process to support our multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS)
  • Participate in building based team meetings providing updates and advice to the team including parents and guardians. Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide effective student support.
  • Participate in Occupational Therapists quarterly meetings and professional development
  • Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
