Job Summary
Instruction & Adaptation: Adapt general education lessons and materials for diverse needs. Teach core subjects basic skills life skills and social-emotional skills. Utilize various methods: one-on-one small groups and inclusive settings. Implement assistive technology and specific behavioral strategies. Collaboration & Communication: Work with parents general education teachers therapists counselors and administrators. Communicate student progress challenges and successes regularly. Monitoring & Advocacy: Track student performance data and progress toward IEP goals. Update IEPs and instructional plans as needed. Act as a student advocate ensuring appropriate accommodations and services are provided. Classroom & Team Management: Supervise and mentor teacher assistants/paraprofessionals. Foster inclusive safe and supportive learning environments.
