Summary:
Reporting to the director of international admission the senior assistant director is responsible for the recruitment of first-year and transfer international students within key geographic territories primarily abroad. Additionally the senior assistant director is responsible with assisting in the design development implementation and management of various admission programs strategies policies and practices that meet the goals and objectives of the university.
Job Description:
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Researches designs and executes territory specific recruitment initiatives that align with the universitys marketing and enrollment goals.
- Collaborates with team members and leadership to ensure operational activities within the office are streamlined and productive.
- Travels to and manages several geographic international territories to identify recruit admit and enroll academically qualified first-year and transfer students.
- Develops recruitment strategies within assigned territories to include high school visits college fairs area receptions and yield events.
- Cultivates and sustains partnerships with high school counselors educational consultants government agencies and university partners globally.
- Establishes and maintains an active communication flow with high school students and parents counselors educational consultants and agents.
- Counsels students through the application process and facilitates questions related to the universitys academic social cultural financial and athletic environments.
- Provides guidance to students and families regarding academic programs campus culture cost of attendance and financial aid policies.
- Provides general guidance regarding the universitys cost and aid policies.
- Evaluates international academic credentials including various curricula and grading scales to make informed admission recommendations.
- Collaborates to streamline office workflows and manages specific projects related to virtual and in person programming agent management and social media outreach.
- Conducts admission presentations to campus visitors and varying constituent groups in the assigned territory.
- Analyzes territory data to provide routine reports on recruitment trends enrollment projections and ROI of travel and programming.
- Completes routine reports related to recruitment projections personal schedule travel special programs and professional development.
- Builds and maintains working relationships with key faculty and staff members across campus.
- Assists with the planning and execution of special programs and projects both virtually and in person.
Required knowledge skills and abilities
- Knowledge of admission terminology and standardized testing practices.
- Deep understanding of international secondary school systems standardized testing and global market trends.
- Experience reading international applications and basic knowledge of SEVIS the U.S. immigration system.
- Excellent interpersonal cross-cultural communication leadership organizational and programming skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate diverse cultural norms and communicate persuasively with global audiences.
- Ability to clearly and persuasively articulate university programs and offerings to prospective students.
- Skilled at interacting and communicating with varying audiences in small and large settings.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and efficiently and effectively manage high priority projects simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a rigorous international travel schedule including frequent evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and basic interactions to communicate with prospective students.
- Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office tools and experience with CRM software Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize work effectively.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university required. Candidates with a masters degree preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive admission and higher education experience required. Consideration will not be given to candidates without direct college admission experience.
- Valid passport drivers license and clean driving.
- Bilingual preferred.
